Goal

Ocean View Kennel wanted a one-page website and they needed it fast. They had just bought a kennel and put much effort into making it a top-notch place to groom and board dogs.

They want to be able to develop the website later as their business grows. For now, they just wanted a professional-looking page up and running within 2 weeks.

Summary

Since the kennel specializes in Maltese dogs, I incorporated Maltese dogs and ocean-themed features throughout the design.

I made the top of the website echo an ocean wave, with decorations of seashell, starfish, and dog paws in the sand. The background picture is a view of the ocean, and the wave covers part of the picture to convey a sense of motion.

Ocean-blues and sand-golds were chosen for the website's colors, and a blank bar was included in the design to hold the navigation when client is ready to expand the website.

NOTE: A while after designing this website, the customer added their own flashing animated graphics, dog barking sounds, and MIDI files -- things I do not recommend in excess.
