Goal

The Boston Hearth Alliance needed a website completed within three weeks to meet their goal of having a quality website on-line when their scheduled advertising began.

They wanted the website to convey the warmth, comfort, and security found in hearth-related products such as wood stoves and fireplace inserts, and to allow customers to locate dealers.

Summary

Boston Hearth provided their logo and the website was created around the logo's theme of a flaming hearth.

To convey the warmth of fire, flame-related colors on a darker background were utilized, such as warm reds and oranges.

Although I have basically discontinued offering Flash animations, I felt that two simple animations would be very effective for this website: a subtle flame burning in a fireplace with fire crackling sounds, and another showcasing the qualities and styles found in hearth products.

To make it easy for customers to locate Boston Hearth dealers, a map of New England states was created to allow each individual state to bring up its dealer list when clicked.
